Boyun Eğmem is the new single from Meral Polat’s upcoming album MEYDAN. It is a wild, unfiltered anthem of political expression and social change.
This musical rallying cry preaches resilience in the face of injustice and warns the cruel and corrupt authoritarian oppressors of the world that we (the people) are the thunder rolling in. Spitfire vocals echo the phrases “I will not bow, I will not kneel” and “Shame on you” over gritty protest rock ’n roll. Boyun Eğmem is a defiant roar against fascism, war and racial oppression. A visceral blend of desert blues, searing rock and powerful spoken word that stands shoulder to shoulder with the people and the Earth.
Written by Meral Polat, Chris Doyle and Jens Bouttery, this track pulses with a raw energy. Guitars snarl and shimmer, organs and synths weave haunting textures, and drums drive the song forward with an unfaltering heartbeat. Above it all, Meral’s voice rises: unyielding, unbroken, calling us back to our shared humanity.
